Filattiera Lunigiana


The farm 'Terre Malaspiniane' is developing its production on a vast geographical area ranging from high up lunigiana versilia.
Lunigiana is the region at the north of Tuscany, surrounded dall'Appennino, the Apuan Alps and the Ligurian Sea. Its name comes from the Roman colony of Luni, Liguria territory today. The historical boundaries of the Lunigiana are much broader, corresponding to the jurisdiction of the diocese of Luni. In the Middle Ages embraced throughout the Lunigiana Magra valley, the Val di Vara, the Gulf of Spezia, the Cinque Terre and the Apuan Riviera. Today the boundaries of the Lunigiana are much more modest and uncertain. In Tuscany are well defined, including the fourteen municipalities in the middle and high val di Magra in Liguria and are rather vague and include Sarzana, Luni and the three municipalities to the left of the river Magra.
